John of God is unquestionably one of the world’s most powerful spiritual healers living today. People seek him out for every kind of ailment, from cancer, paralysis, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis and low back pain to asthma, allergies and arthritis. John’s basic message is that love is the source of all true healing. Even the light emanating from John of God’s spiritual sanctuary, The Casa, heals on innumerable levels opening doorways of possibilities.
It is hard to define John of God, but there are anecdotal stories that tell us a little bit about this rare individual He was not a well-educated man in that he never finished grade school and doesn’t know how to read. He grew up poor and hungry and because of that, built a soup kitchen that feeds thousands of people weekly in the village of Abadiania, where his home “The Casa” is located. Every day after the morning session at The Casa, soup is served to all of the participants.
His healing abilities started to appear when he was a teenager, and he has now been practicing his healing work for more than 50 years. He has natural intuitive abilities and is able to tell things about an individual he cannot know otherwise. He knows why you have your symptoms or disease, but does not reveal this to you as it has to do with a karmic responsibility.
His methods of healing are mysterious, as he is able to see beyond what the average person can perceive. Many unexpected things happen at The Casa. Some people may faint in line while waiting to see him, or an unexpected “astral” surgery may be received, after which the person is gently taken to the infirmary to recover.
To be in John of God’s presence is phenomenal. He carries a peace and calm that is deep and palpable. People have received amazing healings, from having tumors disappear, to having illnesses such as muscular dystrophy, arthritis and cancer go into complete remission.
On one occasion, I was sitting in current (holding the space) in the surgery room, and realized that after coming to The Casa for ten years, still didn’t understand how John of God did his work. He unexpectedly walked into the room, and recognizing his voice, I thought that this is my opportunity to know how he does his work. I asked to be shown something about how he heals people. Almost immediately, a powerful violet ray came into the top of my head and cleared debris from me for about 45 minutes. After that, a more mellow watermelon-colored ray appeared and worked on my throat. I was exhausted when it was over, went back to my room, showered and collapsed into a deep sleep. When I awoke, I realized that his healing powers were still a mystery, but I had a clue and an even bigger respect for the miracles that come through him. Since that time, I am able to access a level of peace and calm within that was unknown to me before.
I had one other significant experience that was particular moving. I was sitting in the front row of the benches where he receives people and I could hear his voice as my eyes were closed. Very clearly, in my mind’s eye, I saw the Virgin Mary standing directly to his right overseeing all the healing he was doing. There was such a sense of love and acceptance, such compassion in her presence, that it seemed to illuminate the entire Casa.
John says “It is not I who heal, it is God”. He takes no credit for the miracles that occur through him, but rather seems to see himself as the messenger. It is a beautiful humility that he conveys.
For those who have received healing of a condition that had been considered “terminal”, there is unlimited gratitude and reverence for the mysterious way in which the healing occurred. Some say that he revealed their inner self in a way they had never known before so that they understood the root of their symptoms. One woman who was not “healed”, but who received great insight, said “Now I can die happy, because I understand how I created this illness.”
The love, healing and gratitude that I experience both being in the presence of John of God, and for the healing received by the people that I have taken to The Casa, are immense and indescribable.
