As the gluten-free dietary lifestyle becomes more mainstream, the search for a tasty gluten free beer is also on the rise. Not surprisingly, we have access to some delicious options right here in Colorado, care of C2 Imports in Denver.

The style of beer is called Brunehaut and pronounced “Bruno.” C2 Imports currently imports two styles of beer from the same brewer; Brunehaut Ambrée — a six and a half percent Belgian Amber Ale that uses barley and extracts the gluten after the fact, and a Brunehaut Bio Blonde — a five percent Tripel. Brunehaut Amber and Blonde gluten-free beers were awarded the Gold and Silver Medals at the 2012 U.S. Open Beer Championships respectively, and are known as some of the best gluten-free beers in the world, commended for their beer-likeness.

The best part? The European farmer grows all his own barley organically, and both beers are not only vegan but farm to table. If you are interested in sampling them, both beers are available at Wilbur’s Total Beverage, Supermarket Liquors and the Armstrong Hotel in Fort Collins, The Pour House in Loveland, as well as PJ’s Wine and Spirits and Snifters Wine & Spirits in Longmont.
